Did your grandmother or mother ever wear an Apron that they had embroidery on it? Do you still have this Apron as a treasured memory of their stitching?
This year at the Ballarat Apron festival we are giving you the opportunity to learn how to create your own family heirloom.
Catherine Thomas, a textile creator and designer from Ballarat will be holding basic beginner embroidery classes at the festival so you can embroider a motif onto an apron you can wear.
When & Where
Classes will be held on 27 and 28 May 2017 as part of the Ballarat Apron Festival – St Patrick’s Hall, Lyons Street, Ballarat.
Saturday 10.00 – 11.00am.
Sunday 10:00 – 11:00am & 1:00 – 2:00pm & 2:30 – 3:30pm
Bookings are essential and payment must be received to secure your booking.
Cost of attending a one hour tuition class
You will receive an apron to stitch on and a basic embroidery kit (needles, thread, hoop etc.)
‘Have no time but want one or already know how to embroider, buy a pack to take home and enjoy at your leisure or teach your kids’.
